Description: The Red Cross was founded on February 9, 1863 in Geneva at the initiative of Henry Dunant. This is an international humanitarian organization created to protect human life and health, support and relieve the suffering during armed conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics.
The activities of the international organization be directed and coordinated by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent and national Red Cross organizations in member countries.
Today, the International Red Cross organization includes about 190 national Red Cross with nearly 100 million volunteer members from around the world.
For his work and dedication to humanitarian cause the International Committee of the Red Cross has been awarded three Nobel Prizes for Peace and International Federation of Red Cross won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1963.
The activity of Red Cross has won the recognition and the respect of everyone in the world.
