Description: The work-cabinet and work-bench of Voltaire in the Castle of Voltaire /Château de Voltaire/ in Ferney.
In February 1759 Voltaire purchased the Château de Ferney. The last twenty years of his life Voltaire had passed here. These are his most creative years when he create Candide ou l'Optimisme, Dictionnaire philosophique, Questions sur l'Encyclopédie .... Time, devoted to lively correspondence and hot discussions on literary and philosophical questions. The palace in Ferney became a cultural and intellectual center of the Enlightenment.
This legendary place retains a memory of the life of the great writer and philosopher between writing, theater performances, secular gatherings, gourmet dinners and meetings with countless admirers.
And today, after more than 250 years, when walking through the halls of the Castle, feeling that overwhelms you is indescribably and unforgettable....
