Very rare clock of Chateaubriand, reminiscent of the famous novel "Atala". Here, the Father Aubry (Père Aubry) presents the young Christian woman Atala sitting on the lap of the Indian Chactas. Gift that François-René de Chateaubriand, the author of the novel, make to Madame Récamier in 1817, his most faithful friend.
The dial is signed "Bernauda, elevated by Breguet" ("Bernauda, élevé de Bréguet").
